CARE
DAY CARE ASSISTANT

Hours of work: Set to a 2 week rota pattern, every alternate weekend off. Variable shifts including weekend work, average weekly hours 40 hours full time or job share

Pay: Starting pay £5.75 per hour


Care assistants are to be friendly, caring and hard working. Good manners are essential to residents and visitors. Care Assistants are responsible to the Senior Care Assistants, they must also work as a team and be aware of what is going on around them. They must respond to instructions from Senior Care Assistants and carry out tasks set by them.

We expect care staff to:

Help residents with every day needs
Respect resident's privacy at all times
Help with with washing and dressing when required
Assist residents to toilet when required
Help with light catering including meal times and assisting residents eating
Help with any laundry work. Talk and communicate with the residents
Talk and communicate with other members of staff

EVENING CARE ASSISTANT

Hours of Work: Part-time post - specific nights from Monday to Sunday 6-9pm and 6-10pm

Pay: Starting Pay £5.75 per hour


Care assistants are to be friendly, caring and hard working. Good manners are essential to residents and visitors. They should be able to work as a team and be aware of what is going on around them.

The requirement for all evening staff is to assist residents to rest and in to bed. Ensure that they are comfortable and enquire when they want to go to bed. Those who wish to stay up later will be put to bed by the night staff. Any spare time can be spent in the laundry or wherever needed.

NIGHT CARE ASSISTANT

Hours of Work: Part-time post - specific nights from Monday to Sunday 9pm until 8am

Pay: Starting Pay £6.75 per hour


Care Assistants are to be friendly, caring and hard working. Good manners are essential to residents and visitors. They should be able to work as a team and be aware of what is going on around them. Night staff are to carry out any instructions left for them by the Senior Care Assistants.

The requirement for all night staff is to ensure that all residents have a good nights sleep and to be alert to answer any bells. Night staff are responsible for seeing the last of the residents in to bed. There is a list of duties for night staff to carry out when not assisting residents. Any jobs for the morning should be done on this shift such as kitchen duties and cleaning. Any remaining laundry should be hung out, folded and ironed. When these tasks are completed night staff may rest but are expected to remain awake and alert.

DOMESTIC

CHEF

Hours of Work: 8am until 2pm Monday to Saturday, 7am until 2pm Sunday - job share for 2 chefs alternating 3 or 4 days per week.

Pay: Negotiable depending on experience


As applies to all members of staff, The Chef is to be friendly, caring and hard working. Good manners are essential to residents and visitors. He/she must be able to work as part of a team and be aware of what is going on around him/her.

Specific duties include:

The preparation of residents' meals to a high standard in accordance with specific dietary needs of individuals at the home
The preparation of any other meals as required by the management
Responsible for the health and hygiene of the kitchen
Supervision and training of the general assistant
Maintenance of stock levels and reordering as necessary
The provision of written menus for relief chefs

The Chef is to use appropriate cleaning materials for the kitchen as provided. He/she is to be aware of COSHH requirements regarding the use of cleaning solutions. The Chef is to inform the management if he/she is required to use any cleaning material for which he/she has not been briefed.

GENERAL ASSISTANT

Hours of Work: Jobshare, Monday to Sunday 8am until 2pm

Pay: Negotiable depending on experience


As applies to all members of staff, General Assistants are to be friendly, caring and hard working. Good manners are essential to residents and visitors. They should be able to work as a team and be aware of what is going on around them.


Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy, loading and unloading the dishwasher and washing by hand any items that cannot be put in the dishwasher
Helping the Chef and Care Staff to serve meals
Collecting trays from residents' rooms and crockery from the dining room
Preparing and serving mid morning drinks to the residents
Sorting laundry and returning it to residents
After lunch has finished you are required to sweep and mop the kitchen floor and carry out tasks as directed by the Senior Care Staff e.g. preparation of residents' teas

You are required to familiarise yourself with the correct use of the cleaning solutions. You must be aware of COSHH requirements regarding the use of cleaning solutions.

EVENING ASSISTANT

Hours of Work: Job share 7pm - 9pm evenings

Pay: Negotiable depending on experience


Duties include preparing evening drinks in the kitchen and distributing them to residents. Fill hot water bottles if needed. Finish off breakfast trays, i.e., cereals etc. Any spare time should be spent in the laundry folding any dry laundry. The Evening Assistant will not be required to do care work.

CLEANER

Hours of work: Hours of work to suit Monday to Friday

Pay: Negotiable depending on experience


As applies to all members of staff, Cleaners are to be friendly, caring and hard working. Good manners are essential to residents and visitors. Cleaners are responsible to the Housekeeper and are to carry out any tasks detailed by the Housekeeper. They should be able to work as a team and be aware of what is going on around them.

Each member of the housekeeping staff has an area in the home to keep clean and tidy.

The duties include:

Changing beds
Providing residents with clean linen, towels and facecloths
Cleaning bathrooms
Dusting polishing and vacuuming
Windows to be cleaned on the inside

For safety reasons residents should be asked to leave their rooms while the rooms are being cleaned.

You must be briefed on the correct use of all cleaning materials. You must be aware of COSHH requirements regarding the use of cleaning solutions.
